What to see and do
Set in 270 acres the National Water Sports Centre is as well known for its beautiful country park as it is for its amazing activities. With a 2km Regatta Lake at the heart of the park you can go for a wander around the lake, or stray off the beaten track to explore our beautiful lakes, lagoons and nature trails. The site is teeming with wildlife, boasting numerous plants and animals that have made the centre their home.
Refreshments
The restaurant in the main building is open 7 days a week offering almost everything you could need. You can pop in just for a cup of tea, or go the whole hog and have a 3 course meal. The restaurant is perfect for when you have just finished your activity whilst the bar makes for the ideal watering hole with great views across the lake and park.
Fun on the water
The centre is best know for its water facilities and attracts people from miles around. Experience White Water Rafting on Britain's best white water course; try sailing, canoeing or kayaking on the 2km main lake or enjoy water skiing on the cableway.
Trails and Cycling
The park has over 7km of trails where you can jog, stroll, play or explore. Two cycles routes are marked with different coloured way markers and provide a challenge and enjoyable day out for cyclists of every age and ability. Starting from the car park by the White Water Course both routes explore the country park, following the waters edge, nature trails and broad level paths. The ‘mountain bike route’ is 3.6 miles and includes some moderate slopes, small obstacles and muddy terrain, whilst at 3.3 miles the ‘family route’ is relatively flat and wide making it suitable for beginners or novice cyclists.
Fishing
With so many lakes and lagoons, the National Water Sports Centre is the ideal venue to go fishing. Simply pay for the day at the boathouse and you can enjoy a relaxing time watching the world go by and hopefully hook yourself a monster.
