Artists opportunities with Young Potential
Young Potential are in the process of recruiting new artists to deliver creative and inspirational visual arts, music and drama based work on the Stage Life project for people with learning disabilities and the Academy for young people at risk.
The work will be regular weekly sessions available on long and short term contracts working on the development and progression of the learners based in Nottinghamshire.
Young Potential creates an environment which allows all who take part to experience a safe creative space to express themselves, to nurture their potential and have a sense of continual belonging.
We are an organisation that is steeped in personal development and we use the arts as a vehicle for personal progression.
We have developed an innovative way of engaging with learners and ensuring they get the most out of any arts experience they have within Young Potential.

Visible – looking forward to new opportunities – a programme for people over 50
As Colin decides how to turn his video of a fly stuck in a spider’s web into a computer animation Angela snaps away with her digital camera, recording different faces for a photo collage.
Along with radio broadcasting and theatre writing, the new Visible courses led by Newark and Sherwood District Council and funded by Nottinghamshire County Council are introducing a range of creative skills, specifically for the over 50s.
Visible sessions are free and designed to appeal particularly to people who’ve had limited access to the arts and those who live in isolated rural areas or may need help dealing with life-changing experiences like bereavement, retirement or divorce.
It’s not just about the art, through the workshops you can meet new people, gain self confidence and self assurance. Opportunities to progress and become volunteers are also available enabling participants to return to their local communities to share their new found skills.
