Visible – looking forward to new opportunities – a programme for people over 50
As Colin decides how to turn his video of a fly stuck in a spider’s web into a computer animation Angela snaps away with her digital camera, recording different faces for a photo collage.
Along with radio broadcasting and theatre writing, the new Visible courses led by Newark and Sherwood District Council and funded by Nottinghamshire County Council are introducing a range of creative skills, specifically for the over 50s.
Visible sessions are free and designed to appeal particularly to people who’ve had limited access to the arts and those who live in isolated rural areas or may need help dealing with life-changing experiences like bereavement, retirement or divorce.
It’s not just about the art, through the workshops you can meet new people, gain self confidence and self assurance. Opportunities to progress and become volunteers are also available enabling participants to return to their local communities to share their new found skills.
Experience film
This exciting new programme enables you to work with experienced film makes Roger Knott-Fayle and Owen Davies. You will learn about all aspects of film making and use accessible digital technology.
