School pupils and university students (including those undertaking courses before an archives postgraduate course) are welcome to approach us to discuss the possibilities of undertaking work experience at Nottinghamshire Archives. Demand is considerable so it is advisable to contact us well in advance.
The work experience we provide is generally over a one week period. The week begins with an introduction to the service and tour of the building, then continues with a combination of project work and professional modules on a range of themes, including accessions and cataloguing, conservation work, records management, web site work and outreach.
In addition there may be possibilities to work at the Archives on a voluntary basis.
