Raleigh Cycles have long been associated with Nottingham and their products exported around the world. From their humble beginnings on Raleigh Street to the creation of a global empire, Raleigh became a household name. The creation of the ‘All-Steel Bicycle’, the incorporation of three-speed gear hubs, and the success of champion cyclists like Reg Harris all contributed to the company’s success. This online exhibition complements the major exhibition 'Wheels of Fortune: The Story of Raleigh Cycles of Nottingham' which was displayed at the Weston Gallery, Lakeside Arts Centre, University of Nottingham from April to August 2008.
