The Semi-official category brings together the records of several types of different administrative organisations, including poor law unions, hospitals, collieries and the Inland Revenue.

Semi-official collections

Central Electricity Generating Board

Coverage: 1953 - 1967
Series of agreements, largely relating to equipment and machinery, of the Central Electricity Generating Board (formerly the British Electricity Authority; Central Electricity Authority).

Colliery records

Forest records

Gas Company records

Health and Safety Executive

Series of plans of abandoned non-coal mines.

Health Organisations

Coverage: from 1899
Administrative and financial records of: Nottinghamshire Insurance Committee; Nottinghamshire Care Association for Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases; Nottinghamshire branch of the British Social Hygiene Council; Nottingham County and City Executive Committee; Nottinghamshire Family Health Services Authority.

There are closure periods of thirty years on some Health Organisations Records, so that records created within the last thirty years are not available for consultation without authorisation. Contact us for more information.

Turnpike Trusts

Coverage: 18th - 19th centuries
Records relating to new roads, including Acts of Parliament, deeds and minute books. Deposited plans of roads have been transferred to the Courts archive group.

Water Authority

Coverage:
1926 - 1959
Three minute books relating to meetings of the Sherwood Area Water Authorities, including minutes of the Technical sub-committee.
