Financial Support for Courses of Further Education (i.e. BTEC Diploma, NVQ level 3, A levels)
Maintenance
Students will be able to apply for an Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) whether they attend a school sixth form, sixth form college or further education college. The maximum grant is £30 per week. This level of support will depend on your meeting the conditions to apply and your family income. Nottinghamshire Local Authority operates a scheme of assistance with course related expenses, subject to family financial circumstances.

Item/circumstance: University interviews Assistance available: Cost of attending university interviews, up to a maximum of three interviews
Item/circumstance: Materials and equipment Assistance available: Grant up to a maximum of £50 per week
Item/circumstance: Unforeseen and unexpected fall of at least 15% in family financial circumstances Assistance available: Weekly grant up to £30 per week with effect from change in circumstances

Help with Travelling Expenses for 2007/08
The post-16 travel assistance scheme allows students who live in Nottinghamshire (outside the City of Nottingham boundary) and more than two radial ('as the crow flies') miles from the school/college to purchase a travel pass for £99 which will allow them to travel to and from their school/college at half the adult fare.
