Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Children Board - Information for voluntary agencies

All organisations working with children and young people must ensure that they have safe practices and child protection procedures. The Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire Child Protection Procedures apply to the voluntary sector but you may wish to support these with local guidance.

The Nottinghamshire Safeguarding Children Board (NSCB) is aiming to forge stronger links with the voluntary sector in safeguarding children and NAVO is taking this forward. More information about the work of NAVO can be found at www.navo.org.uk/about.htm

The Every Child Matters website at  www.everychildmatters.gov.uk/strategy/voluntaryandcommunity has lots of useful information for the voluntary and community sector.

The NCSCB is working with NAVO to produce a strategy to assist voluntary agencies in safe working practices including training and child protection procedures. This includes providing basic guidance for safer working practices.
