Service Standard
- An individual educational assessment of literacy, numeracy, learning style, and any learning difficulties. This is aided by the support of an educational psychologist.
- 25 hours of National Curriculum work incorporating Education, Maths, English, Art, D & T, ICT, PSHE, PE, Careers, Extra Curricular Activities each week for each child, For most 13-16 year olds an aim to achieve GCSE’s, AQA awards, NVQ, Citizenship and Koestler Awards. .
- Lap top computers for students to use in order to enhance learning and engagement in education.
- Education groups of between 2-4 with a teaching staff ratio of 2 staff for every 4 children.
- Mobility: Opportunities to leave the centre funded by Clayfields House to practice new skills, hobbies, and educational opportunities such as museum visits, college or work experience programmes.
- Five hours structured homework time per week with literacy support from an allocated Residential Social Care Worker.
- Self Care and Life skills development work each day for each child.
- Purpose built classrooms with additional gym, art, technology, multi-gym, careers and library facilities.
- Provision of an on site connexions worker to aid in career and future educational choices.
- Options for through- care work and post-discharge contact between Clayfields House and the child – We don’t just say goodbye!
