  • Involvement of young people in daily house unit meetings to confirm their responsibility for planning and resolution of any group living difficulties.
  • Involvement of young people in the recruitment and selection of staff, confirming their own importance and developing communication and self confidence.
  • Weekly confidential advocacy service to each unit from “VOICE” ( Getting young voices heard )
  • Weekly moral reasoning sessions to promote more complex decision making and the avoidance of anti-social and problematic behaviours.
  • Weekly opportunity for ‘drug misuse counselling sessions’ provided by an external professional (FACE IT)
  • Weekly Drama Therapy (where clinically suitable) sessions provided by a qualified and skilled drama teacher/therapist.
  • Individual consultation prior to each review with a written submission from each young person to the review progress.
  • Daily life skill tasks to aid in a group living environment, and develop independence skills.
