Service Evaluation

Service Evaluation

  • In order to ensure the service is of a high standard Clayfields House is inspected on a monthly, annual, and tri-annual basis by CSCI, YJB, Local Counsellors, External Managers, and OFSTED.  Our recent CSCI Inspection reported that we ‘were 'a centre moving towards being a centre of excellence nationally' and our user involvement and the quality of our interventions received special commendations.
  • In addition Clayfields House utilises post discharge monitoring of young people’s actual achievements to monitor service provision.  Likewise a quality assurance programme necessitates the completion of a questionnaire by Placing Authorities and for young people by VOICE to assess service provision.

What CSCI said in August 2004:

“The professional approach to meeting the needs of young people was of an excellent standard”

And

“Managers…had a clear vision for Clayfields House and it was their aim to create a centre of excellence.  With the range of progressive practices described in the inspection report, this is an achievable target for this secure unit”

And

“Overall, pupils’ achievements were impressive. Several young people had achieved extraordinary results in the Koestler Awards Scheme established for juveniles in secure facilities”
