Supporting your child

As a parent you have an important role to play in your child's education and there are many ways in which you can help your child as they go through school.

You can talk to your child's head teacher about getting involved, contact the Parent Teacher's Association (www.ncpta.org.uk) or visit the website designed for parents by the DCSF at www.dcsf.gov.uk.

You may also like to know more about how your child is doing at school. The school will let you have a yearly report, hold parent evenings and publish information about performance in external tests and public exams.

You can also check the schools latest Ofsted report by requesting a copy from school or by visiting the Ofsted website: www.ofsted.gov.uk.

Most parents in Nottinghamshire have a positive relationship with their child's school but occasionally things may go wrong. If you have a complaint about a Nottinghamshire school we will take it seriously and have procedures in place to deal with it.
