Schools

When the time comes for your child to start school, we provide a wide variety of information to help make the transition as easy as possible.

We tell you what you should look for in a school and what you need to know in order to get a school place for your child. In addition, we provide advice on how you can support your child and whether you may be able to receive extra help from us.

We offer advice on getting to school and doing so safely, whether that be on foot or by car, bus or bike.

Once your child is at school, what they learn is governed by the National Curriculum. In Nottinghamshire, we also provide a comprehensive range of out of school activities which aim to enhance the education your child receives.

Job evaluation

Information about job evaluation and the proposed pay package for County Council employees working in schools is available on the Big issues website.
