The workshops are open to young people between the ages of 7 and 19 (Year 3 and above) who attend a Nottinghamshire County Council School. You can:

  • explore the creative areas of music, dance and drama in a friendly and supportive environment
  • discover new interests
  • develop existing skills through working intensively with expert tuition
  • share an enthusiasm for the arts with others
  • learn through activities appropriate to your stage of artistic development
  • work in advanced groups
  • learn about artistic styles from a range of cultural backgrounds
  • progress with individualised learning programmes (for members who require support).

Music, Dance and Drama workshops take place at Arnold, Mansfield, Southwell and Worksop and operate on Saturday mornings.

Membership is not dependent on audition, places are free and you can apply at any time. Members must attend regularly, have an interest in the workshop activities and behave appropriately. Waiting lists will operate for workshops that are oversubscribed.

The workshop groups are led by teachers who have been selected because of a combination of teaching ability with first hand experience of performance work. The workshops also benefit from the advice of Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators and/or Support Assistants.
