Book talks and storytelling

Would you like to

  • enthuse children about reading
  • promote reading for pleasure
  • update your own book knowledge?

We will come to school to read stories to groups of key stage 1 pupils and promote new fiction to key stage 2 pupils.  There are two options:

  • 1 hour (for 2 groups) with 50 supporting books left in school for one month.  Cost £75
  • Half a day (for 4 groups) with 100 supporting books left in school for one month.  Cost £140

To celebrate the National Year of Reading, 12 lucky schools have been allocated free sessions in June and October.

Author visits and book fairs

We can give you advice on local authors and storytellers willing to visit schools. We can often provide feedback from other schools about visits they have had. If you are a customer, you can borrow copies of many authors' books to prepare your pupils for the visit.National Year of Reading logo

Need help with planning your event?  Our Book fairs pack will give you the information you need to make your event a success, including:

  • planning ahead
  • suggested activities
  • details of local authors and performers
  • useful contacts.

This will be particularly useful in the National Year of Reading 2008.
