Post: ICT Support Assistant
Duties and responsibilites:
Specific responsibilities include:
- Provide technical support and guidance to staff to understand programs, problem solve and generally support them in using software/hardware correctly in the classroom situation
- Provide in-class technical support for staff using ICT in the classroom
- Contribute to the development of a school Intranet Site and Web site
- Maintain and fault find all computers around the school and organise where necessary if repairs are required
- Make minor repairs if and when necessary
- Maintain a stock of parts needed for minor repairs, e.g. mouse balls
- Maintain a booking system for any ICT equipment.
- Maintain integrity of software, virus killing, re-installation when crashes occur etc
- Maintain classroom resources according to the school’s policy.
- Liaise with the Network Manager regarding hardware and software suppliers
- Provide technical support for staff training
- Ensure the continued operation of the School networks, setting up new accounts, maintain password integrity, and assist pupils and staff to access network resources
- Set up and maintain new computers in accordance with Nottinghamshire Standard Network Build
- Keep up to date with ICT developments, and liaise with the ICT Co-ordinator and Network Manager over future developments, Internet, Video Conferencing. Network expansion
To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature, as defined by line manager from time to time, subject to the proviso that normally any changes of a permanent nature shall be incorporated into the job profile in specific terms.
