Childcare
There are more than 1,400 childcare providers in Nottinghamshire, including childminders, out of school clubs, day nurseries/nursery schools, pre-schools and playgroups, crèches, Sure Start Children’s Centres and early years education places for 3 and 4 year olds.
Each childcare type has its pros and cons depending upon what your needs are. Our Children’s Information Service (CIS) can provide all the information you need about the different types of childcare in Nottinghamshire as well as information about the financial help available with paying for it. You can call the CIS on 0800 781 2168.
The Sure Start, Extended Schools and Childcare Group have developed a guide to childcare and early education to help you decide which type of childcare is best for you. The guide is called Looking for Childcare [PDF 3265KB].
Once you are decided upon what type of childcare you are looking for, the CIS can match your childcare needs to its database of providers and send you details. Alternatively you can search online at www.childcarelink.gov.uk/notts
