Local context
The intention is to offer the fullest range of options for students, tailored to match local needs.
The post-16 centres will be staffed by key permanent personnel providing management and pastoral support for students and by teaching staff from all the secondary schools moving freely between their base school and the centre. Alongside these teachers, lecturers from the college will provide a range of vocational options for the students.
All of the secondary schools will continue to be designated as 11-18 schools, but all sixth form students in Retford and Worksop will transfer to the new centres. Both Tuxford Comprehensive School and Serlby Park School will retain in-house sixth forms owing to their relative geographical isolation from the towns.
