Recycle Week

During national 'Recycle Week' 12 lucky primary schools within Nottinghamshire County will receive a visit from Magic Timothy and his innovative recycling magic show. The show aims to educate and inspire pupils through a lively, interactive performance using the art of magic to captivate the audience.

The messages of waste reduction, reuse and recycling are explored through a series of demonstrations and magic tricks, keeping the children fully entertained throughout.

The shows are being provided jointly by Veolia Environmental Services and Nottinghamshire County Council through it's Schools Waste Action Club (SWAC). The County Council will be contacting the successful schools soon.

Green Cones Trial

Thank you to all Nottinghamshire County residents who bought a Green Cone over a cold windy March weekend. The sale days went really well and we sold 192 subsidised Green Cones.

We have already started to receive the first feedback questionnaires which will now be sent out seasonally. Thank you for those of you who are taking the time to weigh the amounts of food you are placing into your Green Cones, this information is proving very useful.

We have also sent out more informal questionnaires to find out your general thoughts on your Green Cone - I hope that you all have received these. In fact, some have already been returned - thank you for your promptness - and your comments are very positive. Some people did have difficulties with the digging for the installation so if we look into further Green Cone initiatives we will aim to address this issue.

Hopefully you have returned your Spring questionnaire, so your next chance to give us more great comments will June. Please don’t forget to let us know how you are getting on with your Green Cone!!!
