Previous schemes including the withdrawn scheme can be viewed on Development Framework Archive page.

Current progress on document preparation is summarised below:

Waste Core Strategy -General public consultation on issues and options took place in late 2006. Since then further evidence gathering has been carried focusing on potential sites for new waste management facilities.  Revised Issues and Options consultation is planned to commence in January 2010.

Minerals Core Strategy and Safeguarding Document  - Evidence gathering is now underway and it is planned to commence general public consultation on issues and options in April 2010. Informal consultation with key stakeholders on a draft minerals safeguarding background paper took place in April 2009.

Monitoring the Minerals and Waste Development Scheme

As noted above the scheme is subject to annual monitoring via the Annual Monitoring Report which has to be submitted to Government by the end of each calendar year.  If a new scheme is proposed in response to the findings of the Annual Monitoring Report this must be submitted to Government for approval before it can come into effect.
