Beeston bridleway 74 will be closed from 22 February 2010 until 12 March 2010 for a distance of 30 metres between the OS Map grid references SK 5175 3418 and SK 5176 3419

The bridleway is closed to allow for the safe felling of trees that are near to the bridleway and to carry out improvement works to the water control structure.

An alternative route will be available via the road to which the public has access between Beeston bridleway 74 and Beeston footpath 72 – Beeston footpath 72 – The Strand – Church Lane – Beeston bridleway 74 to SK 5176 3419.

Beeston bridleway 73 will be closed from Monday 16 November 2009 until Saturday 15 May 2010 to carry out flood defences works.

The path will be closed between grid reference points SK 5246 3522 and SK 5258 3539, a distance of 225 metres.

An alternative route for walkers is available via Beeston bridleway 73, The Strand, Beeston footpath 68, Shady Lane, Beeston footpath 67, Allendale Avenue, Beeston footpath 67, Long Lane, Meadow Lane, Beeston bridleway 73 and vice versa.

An alternative route for horse riders and cyclists is available via Beeston bridleway 73, The Strand, Church Lane, Attenborough Lane, Long Lane, Meadow Lane, Beeston Bridleway 73 and vice versa.

Beeston footpath 75 will be closed from Monday 4 January 2010 until Saturday 3 July 2010 to carry out flood defences works.

The path will be closed between grid reference points SK 5309 3528 and SK 5258 3537.

An alternative route for walkers is available via Beeston footpath 69, the length of road to which the public has access (between Beeston footpath 69 and Beeston bridleway 73), Beeston bridleway 73, Beeston footpath 75 and vice versa.

Path closure Edingley 24/12/08 Bridleway 22 Temporary closure

Update: The closure of Edingley Bridleway 22 has been extended until 22 June 2010. The closure will be in effect between grid reference points SK 6523 5439 and SK 6596 5397, a distance of 960 metres.

The route is closed as it is unsafe for passage, an alternative route is available via Edingley Byway 24, Halam Byway 20 and Halam Byway 18 and vice versa.

Bridleway 59
Temporary closure

Kirkby bridleways 58 and 59 will be closed from Monday 1 February 2010 until Friday 19 February 2010 while the bridleways are resurfaced.

Full details of the closed sections of bridleway:

  • Kirkby bridleway 58 for 250 metres between the points marked on the OS Map as grid reference SK 4955 5736 and SK 4952 5760.
  • Kirkby bridleway 59 for 130 metres between the points marked on the OS Map as grid reference SK 4952 5762 and SK 4956 5773.

An alternative route will be available from the southern end of Kirkby bridleway 58 at SK 4955 5736 - Sutton Middle Lane – Wentworth Road – Sutton Road – Kirkby Road – Leamington Drive – Warnadene Road and Clare Road to the Northern end of Kirkby bridleway 59 at SK 4956 5773.

Kirkby Footpath 38 will be closed from Monday 15 February 2010 until Friday 12 March 2010 for a distance of 152 metres between the OS Map grid references SK 4948 5607 and SK 4934 5610

The bridleway is closed for improvement works to be carried out on the footpath.

An alternative route will be available from the eastern end of Kirkby footpath 38 at SK 4948 5607 via Beech Avenue, Wheatley Avenue, The Hill and Orchard Road to the western end of Kirkby footpath 38 at SK 4934 5610.

Lambley footpath 1 will be closed from Monday, 14 December 2009 until Sunday, 13 June 2010 inclusive while development and construction works are carried out in the vicinity.

The path will be close between its junctions with Spring Lane (grid reference point SK 6037 4494) and Lambley footpath 1 (grid reference point SK 6048 4503), a distance of 150 metres.

An alternative route will be indicated on site.

Path closure Ratcliffe on Soar 28/05/09 Footpath 1 Temporary Closures

Ratcliffe on Soar footpath 1 will be closed from 26 June 2009 to 25 December 2009. The closure will be from its junction with the unnamed road grid reference SK 5095 3028 to its junction with Ratcliffe on Soar footpath 8 grid reference SK 5093 3017, for 113m. The landowner who has applied for the closure will be signing an alternative route for pedestrians through their own private land.

Reason for closure

Improved security of the HGV entrance to the Ratcliffe on Soar Power Station. The path is proposed to run on a new route outside of their fence, linked to a planning application and diversion order with Rushcliffe Borough Council.

Mapping news Thoroton 11/09/08 Bridleway 3 Path Diversion / Traffic Regulation Order

Local consultation is currently taking place on a proposed experimental traffic regulation order (TRO) for Thoroton bridleway 3, to divert it around the field edge. It is proposed the TRO will be in force for 18 months. We welcome comments from users on this consultation.

Part of Willoughby on the Wolds Footpath 7 will be closed until 6 January 2010, between grid reference points SK 6392 2539 and SK 6394 2527, a distance of 128 metres. The path closure is needed to allow for houses to be built in the area.

An alternative route is available for pedestrians via Main Street, London Lane, Willoughby on the Wolds footpath 10 and vice versa.
