Site details: A naturally regenerated birch wood on a calcareous substrate, holding four species of orchid. A surfaced path loops through the site.

Site name: Cotgrave Country Park

Site details: A restored colliery pit tip with areas of grassland, woodland and wetland. Surface paths cross the site. For further information about this site, visit the Country Parks pages of the website.

Site name: Sutton Meadows
Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield

Site details: A series of large meadows surrounded by recently planted woodland. There are no surfaced paths.

Site name: Newstead Old Coal Stocking Yard and Freckland Wood

Site details: Newstead Old Coal Stocking Yard is a naturally regenerated area of grassland and birch scrub to the west of the Linby Trail, crossed by a surface path. Freckland Wood is a restored colliery pit tip to the east of the Linby Trail with areas of broad-leaved woodland and grassland. There are no surfaced paths on the latter site.

Site details: A restored colliery pit tip with a range of habitats including planted broad-leaved woodland, grassland and wetland.

Site name: Dob Park
Location: Hucknall

Access: Washdyke Lane (off Hucknall Bypass, A611)
Site details: The first woodland planted as part of the Greenwood Community Forest on an area of former arable fields. Grassland and wetland areas are also present on the site. There are no surfaced paths.

Site name: Linby Trail
Location: Linby/Newstead

Site details: Very fine calcareous grassland on a disused railway line. A surfaced path runs along the entire length.

Site name: Kimberley Green and the Great Northern Railway Path
Location: Awsworth/Kimberley

Access: Awsworth Lane, Awsworth (both sites), and Church Hill/Edgewood Road/Newdigate Street, Kimberley (Great Northern Railway Path)
Site details: Kimberley Green is an area of naturally regenerated grassland, scrub and wetland on a former landfill site. The Great Northern Railway Path is a disused railway line with scrub and species-rich grassland habitats. Both sites have surfaced paths.
