Cycling and Trains

Cycle parking at and near stations in Nottinghamshire:

Cycle parking bays

You may not need to use your bike at the other end of your train journey. If you are leaving your bike for some time it is advisable to secure it in a cycle storage locker. There are the following facilities available for cycle parking at stations in the County:

Retford - 10 covered cycle parking stands (with CCTV) on platform 1. There are lockers in Chancery Lane Car Park near the town Square also.

Worksop - 6 lockers in the station car park.

Newark (Northgate) - 20 cycle parking stands.

Newark (Castle) - Nearest parking is at Dobson's Quay by the River Trent. There are 3 lockers here. There are also many cycle parking places around the nearby Market Place.

Mansfield - 4 lockers and 4 cycle stands in the station car park. Cycle parking is also available at the nearby Bus Station and the retail park on St Peter's Way.

Mansfield Woodhouse - 5 cycle lockers available here.

Sutton Parkway - 6 cycle lockers in the car park.

Kirkby in Ashfield - 2 lockers at station and cycle stands in the town centre.

Hucknall - 6 lockers and 8 cycle stands.

Beeston - 6 lockers and 9 cycle stands in the station car park.

Netherfield/ Carlton - No cycle parking at the stations, however there are several sets of cycle stands located near to the shops on Victoria Road in Netherfield town centre.

Central Trains

Bicycles are carried free, but long distance trains have only two spaces, so advance booking (costing £1) is obligatory on these services.

Midland Mainline

Customers can take bicycles on any high speed train, but space should be booked in advance. Bicycles may be carried on off-peak Turbostar trains but not on peak time Turbostar trains. A £3 charge per single journey is charged.
