The Profiles provide statistics which have been selected from the 2001 Census to give a brief but comprehensive picture of the character of an area.  They are presented in the form of 2-pages for each area, covering the following subjects:

All residents Ethnic groups
Migration Health and care
Household amenities and cars              Household composition
Tenure Housing type
Communal establishments Economic activity
Industry of employment Socio-economic classification
Means of travel to work Hours worked
Qualifications

In general, figures are given as percentages, with numbers, which have been used as denominators, also provided for reference. Definitions of terms used throughout the Profiles are also provided for further information.

All the information contained in the Profiles is from the Key Statistics dataset, and is based on 100% of the population. The 24 Key Statistics tables cover the main census topics, consist of approximately 375 counts and are available for output areas, the basic census building block of around 125 households, through to national level. Profiles included in this document are for England, East Midlands, Nottinghamshire, districts, wards, former urban districts and parishes.
