We are working with our partners to promote a local economy where skills, wage levels and enterprise match or exceed national averages. We want the local economy to become more competitive and sustainable and to link Nottinghamshire people to local jobs.

We are trying to:

• stimulate industries capable of expansion
• attract and encourage the development of knowledge based business
• promote social enterprise, local investment, trading and purchasing
• develop an enterprise culture.

We also have a broader role in working with communities:

• to help people get into work with childcare, training and work experience
• to address disadvantage
• to provide information about the economy.
