If Old Trees Could Talk

Friday 26 May 2017 7pm to 9.30pm Sherwood Forest Country Park £5

Ancient trees are not only fantastic hosts for wildlife, but many also have fascinating stories associated with them. They can provide local and national landmarks. Some have witnessed, or have been responsible for, key points in British history. Others have influenced our greatest poets and artists. Yet others are closely connected to folklore.

This illustrated talk by local conservationist Debbie Alston will give a light-hearted look at the stories these trees would tell if they could talk. This includes a number of nationally well-known trees as well as some in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

This lecture will involve a short wander out in to the forest to get up close and personal with some of our famous and iconic trees.
