Inspired by Godfrey Exhibition
Part of the D H Lawrence Festival of Culture. Inspired by the vibrant ceramic work of Richard Godfrey, this is a wonderful free exhibition of silks painted by library visitors around the County with artist Jessica Kemp. Richard Godfrey (1949 - 13 December 2014) was an English studio potter working in Battisborough Cross, Devon. He was a fellow of the Craft Potters Association and known primarily for his brightly coloured earthenware pottery which used composite under glaze patterns. Jessica Kemp mainly works in silks and mixed media. She has been a community artist for many years encouraging people of all ages and abilities to be creative in a variety of ways but specialises in silk painting, carnival and community events.
