There are miles of countryside walks in the county which can be accessed using rights of way.
We have a searchable directory of walks and rides where you can browse walking routes in and around the county.
Country parks and green spaces
We have several picturesque country parks in Nottinghamshire for you to explore on foot, as well as nature reserves, green estate sites and open access land.
Some areas of farmland are also open to walkers through a scheme called Countrywalks.
See the Notts Guided Walks website for a programme of guided walks in Nottinghamshire: www.nottsguidedwalks.co.uk
The 'Break Free with Greenwood Forest' walks in our walks and rides directory grade the walks by surface type and gradient to make it easy to see which walks are accessible to all. Just search for 'greenwood'.
The surfaced towpaths alongside the Grantham Canal, Chesterfield Canal and Nottingham Canal (part of the Erewash Valley Trail) are also accessible to many different users.
