The Great Nottinghamshire Bike Ride is the biggest cycling event in the county. It's also a big fund-raiser for local charities.
More than 4,000 cyclists took part in the 2011 event, which took place on 19 June. There were four different routes, ranging from a family route (5km) to more demanding routes of between 18 and 75 miles. All routes started and finished at the National Water Sports Centre at Holme Pierrepont.
The ride was started back in 1982 by cycling group Pedals. Nottinghamshire County Council is an event partner.
The 32nd Great Nottinghamshire Bike Ride will take place on Sunday 23 June 2013. There will be three distances: 100 miles; 50 miles; and a 25 mile route, all of which will weave their way through sleepy Sunday villages and striking Nottinghamshire countryside.
