The home of contemporary craft
Rufford Craft Centre comprises a gallery with a changing programme of exhibitions, Creative Learning Centre and seminar room all housed in the former stable block which dates from the 1660s.
The Craft Centre offers the opportunity to participate in workshops in a variety of art and craft forms through a programme of public creative workshops with professional artists.
We also offer an extensive education and outreach programme for schools and groups. A highlight of our programme is the annual Earth & Fire International Ceramics Fair, which takes over the Abbey grounds at the end of June each year.

Inspired by Godfrey
Friday 26 June to Sunday 26 July 2015, 10.30am - 5.00pm
Last year, the ceramic community lost potter Richard Godfrey, a very special friend of Rufford Craft Centre. A big part of Earth & Fire, he had attended the event every year since its inception and this year was planning an exhibition in the Gallery. To ensure he is still a part of our annual ceramic fair we are turning over the gallery to Inspired by Godfrey.
Local artists from various disciplines will be working with groups in our communities to create new artworks inspired by Richard and his work. We have no idea what will evolve - but we do know it will be full of colour and life just like Richard.
Alongside this new work we will be exhibiting a selection of Richard's pots loaned to us by friends and admirers.
