Showcasing young people's talent

Showcase

Showcase is an opportunity for 13 - 19 year olds to take part in a major performance event. Whether you can sing, dance, act, mime, play in a band, read poetry or do any other creative performance we want you to take part.

Take centre stage in a professional theatre and show off your talent!

This year's showcase was held in February at Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham and the Palace Theatre, Mansfield.

County Youth Arts dancers

MX4 Street Dance Group

Street dance workshops on Monday nights from 7-9pm at The Old Library for beginners or experienced dancers aged 13-19 years. Working with professional dancer Jasmine Eccles you will choreograph and perform street dance pieces at a number of countywide events. All sessions are free.

Urban Music Collective

Work with urban music producer Jimmy Power to produce your own tracks in our state of the art recording studio. Performance and music release opportunities as well. For 13-19 year olds. Monday nights 6-8pm at The Old Library. All sessions are free.

Fashion Design Course

Working with Nottingham Fashion Designer Callecia J Brown on Fridays from 10am - 3pm at The Old Library. Aimed at young people aged 13-19 not in formal education, training or work. Flexible course lengths and accreditation.

Music Production Course

Learn how to use music software to produce beats/songs, write and perform lyrics and learn to operate a recording studio. Wednesdays from 10am - 3pm at The Old Library. Aimed at young people aged 15-16 not in formal education, training or work. Flexible course lengths and accreditation.

Supergroup

Audition to take part in the new Supergroup project. We are looking for the cream of Nottinghamshire's talented musicians and songwriters so if you are 13-19 years old, can sing, play an instrument or write songs, or are a great performer, apply for an audition slot at County Youth Arts.

Last year's Supergroup 'New Communication' went on to release an EP, perform at several high profile shows including Showcase, BBC Introducing at SONAR, The Ashes Cricket, TOLFest, Stealth and performed at the Royal Concert Hall with Nina Smith in December.

Once selected, the musicians/performers will attend Supergroup sessions every Wednesday evening from 7-9pm. All sessions are FREE & take place at The Old Library.

Plug Promotions

We are Plug Promotions, an organisation led and run by young volunteers. We host music, art and creative events in Nottinghamshire which support the talent of young artists from our County. Our aim is to hold gigs which are unique, inspiring and that breathe fresh air back into our local, live events scene. We promote and curate quality work by young artists into live events that are like no other. 

We have hosted: Festivals, club nights, Battle of the Bands, Live Street Art, Showcase Events, Flash Mobs and Industry Events.

Notts Performing Arts offers exciting and high quality arts opportunities for young people aged 7-19 in year 3 and above, who want to develop their skills in performing arts. Students take part in a choice of music, drama and dance workshops and rehearsal and a variety of performance opportunities.
