Cave Instructor Certificate (CIC)
The Cave Instructor Certificate (CIC) Scheme is the highest instructing award designed for those involved in introducing others to caving, passing technical skills on to others and coaching in a variety of caves at different technical levels. It allows the holder to instruct/guide caving in all areas of UK, in caves of any grade/type.
This training course spread over 2 weekends covers the CIC syllabus, available from the BCA website, and includes all aspects of vertical/horizontal caving, single rope technique (including teaching SRT), rope rescues, navigation, flooding and hazards, cave genesis and coaching skills.
At the end of the course, individual debriefs are given to candidates to form action plans leading to assessment.
