Environmental Information Regulations (EIR)

If the information you are interested in relates to the environment (such as proposed waste management sites or emissions) then it is probably covered by the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) 2004

Make a EIR request

Before submitting an EIR request, please view our FOI and EIR disclosure log, as your request may have already been answered before.

If you can't find the answer to your question there, you can submit an EIR request by contacting the County Council on foi@nottscc.gov.uk or 0300 500 80 80 or writing to an officer or department that you have been dealing with directly. It will help us to process your request if you mention EIR.

Cost

We may charge you a fee for providing the information and for the cost of any copying plus postage. If we need to charge you for the information, we will tell you first so that you can choose whether to proceed or not.

Exceptions

We may not be able to give you all or any of the information you request. This is because there are some exceptions to your right to know. For example, data protection rules will still prevent you seeing someone else’s personal information.

Appeals or complaints

If we refuse all or some of your request for information you have the right to ask us to review our decision. The review will be considered by the Chief Executive, who will not have had prior dealings with your request. If you are dissatisfied with how we have dealt with your request you can also make a complaint. If you are still dissatisfied you can appeal to the Information Commissioner.
