How much does it cost to get married?

Giving notice of marriage and civil partnership

  • Monday to Friday: £35 per person
  • Saturday (subject to availability): £45 per person, including £15 booking fee

The fees below are for your chosen Ceremony Choices.  Please note that since the different types of ceremony are subject to different conditions including time of day, number of guests, price and location it is important that you contact us for advice and to discuss your wishes in detail with a registrar.  A non-refundable deposit is required for all ceremonies.

Registration office - enhanced ceremony

  • Monday to Thursday: £205 
  • Friday to Sunday: £310 
  • Bank Holidays: £395 (£400 from 1st April 2018)

Licensed venues - enhanced ceremony

  • Monday to Thursday: £375 (£385 from 1st April 2018)
  • Friday to Sunday: £410 (£420 from 1st April 2018)         
  • Bank Holidays: £520 (£530 from 1st April 2018)

Registration office - standard ceremony 

Monday to Thursday: £125 

  • West Bridgford Registration Office - mornings only
  • Arnot Hill Registration Office - mornings only

Conversion of a civil partnership to a marriage 

Standard conversion of a civil partnership – providing information and signing in one appointment at the Register office or Registration office:

  • £45

Conversion of civil partnership with a ceremony - two stages

  • Stage one - Providing information to the registrar and checking evidence at the Register office or Registration office: £27
  • Stage two - Signing the declaration during a non-statutory ceremony, see ceremony fees listed above.

Passport PD2 Service - passport application in married name

If you have booked your honeymoon abroad and in your new name, remember to change your passport.  The registrar can sign your passport application document (PD2), which enables your name change to be completed prior to your marriage. For more information on the process please speak to a member of staff.

Charges for licensed venues are for the attendance of registration officers and do not include the hire of the room or any other wedding service.
