Funeral

www.celebrateinnottinghamshire.co.uk

The civil funeral is a dignified formal ceremony or service, suitable for cremations and burials. It is an appropriate and meaningful ceremony that celebrates the life of the deceased.

A civil funeral differs from a humanist funeral in that humanist funerals do not typically contain any religious elements – whilst a civil funeral may include hymns or religious readings should the family so wish.

Services are conducted by a celebrant from Nottinghamshire's County Council's Registration Service.

Our funeral celebrants will ....

  • meet with you at a location of your choice e.g. your home, a friend or family members home, a registration office or funeral directors
  • talk with you about your loved one; gathering as much information as possible about them, for example what kind of character they were, details about their family life, work and interests in order to compose a truly personal eulogy
  • offer you support and guidance in making choices about the service, to ensure it reflects the personality of the person who has died and the wishes of the family
  • help you to think about an appropriate and meaningful way to say goodbye. This may include music, readings, prayers, hymns, a moment of reflection or an opportunity for family or friends to say a few words
  • Liaise with the funeral directors on your behalf to arrange a printed order of service and for music to be played at the times you choose
  • conduct the service and deliver the eulogy they have written for you or present eulogies, tributes and sentiments that you, your family or friends have put together.

Cost: £165
