In conjunction with the Nottingham City Safeguarding Children Board, we plan a number of seminars throughout the year. Details of upcoming seminars will be published here.
The seminars are open to all colleagues across the county wishing to attend. These events are designed with a large audience in mind and applicants are only contacted should an event become oversubscribed.
If this should this happen, the applications that we receive are screened to ensure that as many delegates as possible from a range of localities and agencies have access to the event.
Further training opportunities across Nottinghamshire
Throughout the county there are a number of partner agencies who offer inter-agency training in a variety of areas of practice which are relevant to safeguarding children.

Teenage pregnancy training programme
This programme helps professionals with the health, social and emotional needs of young people (especially the most vulnerable) in relation to sexual health and teenage pregnancy. It also provides a variety of practical tools to meet these needs and to deliver effective sex and relationship education, intervention and workshops.
All courses in the Programme are free of charge to all those who work with young people in Nottinghamshire County. For others, who work outside the boundary of Nottinghamshire, there will be a standard charge of £75 per delegate per course.
Find more information on the teenage pregnancy and sexual health training page.
Local Authority training for schools and FE colleges
There is a statutory requirement for all school based staff to be trained in basic safeguarding on a regular basis.
