From time to time some of our services are disrupted. This may be down to severe weather, staffing issues, or health and safety concerns. We always try to keep this to an absolute minimum.
Our school closures page lists any schools reported closed by severe weather or unforeseen problems.
The formal gardens at Rufford Abbey Country Park are closed to the public until further notice due to damage to the paths.
Ravenshead Library closed at 5.30pm on Friday 31 January 2014 and will re-open at 9am on Friday 7 March 2014. This is to allow for essential health and safety work to be carried out including replacement of the ceiling and lighting.
The nearest alternative library is Blidworth Library.
Newark Library will be closed for essential maintenance from 24 December 2013 to 1 May 2014.
During the closure, the opening times at Balderton, Collingham and Southwell libraries will be extended.
Balderton's new opening times from January to May will be:
- Monday to Friday 9am-6pm
- Saturday 9am-12.30pm
Collingham's new opening times from 9 January until 17 April will be:
- Monday: 2pm-5pm
- Tuesday: 9.30am- 12.30pm
- Wednesday: Closed
- Thursday: 9.30am-12.30pm, 2pm-6pm
- Friday: 9.30am-1pm, 2pm 6pm
- Saturday: 9.30-12.30
- Sunday: Closed
Southwell's new opening times from January to May will be:
- Monday to Friday 9.30am-6pm
- Saturday 9am-3pm
- Sunday 12pm-4pm
Rattle, Rhyme and Roll sessions will take place every Friday, 10am-10.30am, at The Newark Academy from 10 January 2014 until the end of April 2014 while Newark Library is closed.
- Ladybrook Library will be closed on Thursday 22 May 2014 as the library is being used as a polling station.
- Gedling Library will be closed on Thursday 22 May 2014 as the library is being used as a polling station.
During the autumn and winter we will be replacing all the public computers in libraries with new Windows 7 computers. We will try to keep the disruption to a minimum but there will be some days when our service will be unavailable. View a list of when libraries will be affected.
When libraries are forced to close you may be able to use one of the 60 other libraries in Nottinghamshire.
