We have children from black, asian and inter-racial origins needing foster families because they cannot live with their relatives or members of their communities. They need the warmth, love and security of family life and a strong positive self image as racial identity is of great importance.
Would you like to help a child be part of their community?
We need carers who are patient, understanding and committed to offering much needed stability for:
-
pre-school children who are unable to return to their families
-
school age children
-
teenagers who need guidance and support
-
teenagers whose family need a break.
You could support families and existing foster carers by helping children and young people maintain links with their communities. This could be attending festivals and religious services with them or sharing interests or hobbies.
Our children come from all different backgrounds and we need carers from all ethnic origins to care for them; children benefit from living with families who share their backgrounds, culture, language and religion.
