Data protection

Please note that people who contact the County Council to enquire about adoption can have their details logged on to our computer system. This information will then be treated as confidential and will not be shared with anyone else but will remain on our system for future reference.

Getting help

If you are an adoptive parent,  Support After Adoption offers you various services once the adoption order has been made.

You can get help with welfare rights, education, health (including mental health), services for black families, youth service and services for disabled children.

We also offer a number of courses for family members. Please contact Support After Adoption for more information.

Working closely with national adoption groups such as Adoption UK (website: www.adoptionuk.org/) and the British Association for Adoption and Fostering (website: www.baaf.org.uk), we also offer training courses, seminars and conferences for adopters as well as regular updates through mailings and a newsletter - get in touch to find out how we can help you.

Support services will differ, depending on whether you live in Nottinghamshire or outside.
