Adults with Asperger's team

We supports adults with Asperger’s Syndrome living in Nottinghamshire. We also support their families and carers.


What we do

  • Advice and assistance in getting a diagnosis
  • Community Care assessments (SDS)
  • Carer’s assessments
  • Care management co-ordination of the support you receive
  • Social and emotional support from the team and befrienders


We can also help you to:

  • get the correct benefits
  • access further education and employment opportunities
  • find suitable accommodation
  • make the best use of leisure facilities
  • find self-help groups for people with Asperger’s Syndrome
  • find support groups for families and carers.


What we don’t do

  • We can’t diagnose you.  
  • We can’t be your clinical co-ordinator.

Who can get help from us?

You can get help from us if you:

  • have been diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome or autism (but do not have an associated learning disability) or have a suspected diagnosis and want advice from us
  • are aged 18 years or older
  • live in Nottinghamshire (except Nottingham City)
  • have had a Community Care (SDS) Assessment. You will be entitled to help for issues that pose a critical or substantial risk to your independence.

Emergencies

Mental health emergency - contact your GP.

Medical emergency - contact your GP or their out of hours service.

Social care emergency - telephone 0300 500 80 80 (Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm).
At other times contact our Emergency Duty Team on 0300 456 4546.
