There is a lot of support available to help you live at home that is not provided by Nottinghamshire County Council. This includes:
- help with tasks such as shopping, getting about, odd jobs and gardening
- things to do during the day such as lunch clubs, activities and classes.

Choose My Support lists a range of organisations that provide social care support in Nottinghamshire. You can:
- Search for personal support services, useful equipment and local groups.
- Contact support providers to get quotes, book appointments and leave feedback.
The Support with Confidence register provides a list of approved personal assistants who have been trained in supporting people to live independently. They have all had enhanced Criminal Records Bureau checks and supplied references.
The Notts50+ website lists hundreds of organisations that support older people in Nottinghamshire. This includes lunch clubs and help with gardening, transport, shopping and jobs around the home.

The Bassetlaw Health directory has a range of support groups and contacts for people living in the Bassetlaw area.
Community Outreach Advisors visit people at home to look at what support they need to help them stay independent. They offer advice and information on a range of topics such as home safety and security, home adaptations, mobility aids, transport, social activities and benefits.
Referrals to the service can come from the individuals, their family or carers, or professionals such as GPs.

Housing choices advisors provide information and advice to help you to look at your personal housing needs. This includes how to stay safely in your current home as well as advising you on different housing available in the area you wish to live.
The advisors are also able to provide personal assistance with any possible move to a new property, such as completing forms, accompanying to view properties, arrangements for the move and settling in.
