Framework Housing Association began delivery of a new countywide service for people with mental health issues on October 1st 2012. The new service is called Moving Forward: Steps to Independence and has replaced the old Household services and other accommodation based services. NCHA have been subcontracted to provide supported housing which is now an intergral part of the new service. All referrals go through the Community Mental Health Team.
There are a number of strands to the service:
Crisis link - Support workers are based within the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team (CRHT) within relevant hospitals.
Core Support services - A flexible support service that responds to the needs of people in both designated supported accommodation and in independently secured accommodation to deliver the outcomes sought by service users. It includes Early intervention and prevention; Pre-tenancy and resettlement services; Re- ablement to enable people to live independently and Longer term support
Inclusion and Opportunities work - to support people to achieve their goals linked to work, social networks, community contributions and to challenge stigma and the barriers people face in engaging with the community
Carers support service - providing support to carers of people with mental health problems who are reluctant to engage with services.
