Care homes

Do you need a care home?

There is a wide range of support available to help you live at home and avoid going into residential care. See our support to live at home page for more information. Extra care housing can be a good alternative to going into a care home. Contact us and tell us about the support you need. A social care worker will talk to you about what is available.

Telephone: 0300 500 80 80   Email: enquiries@nottscc.gov.uk

Only if none of this home-based support is suitable will you need to think about moving into residential care.

If you are assessed as requiring long term care to meet you needs, you can have a direct payment. A direct payment is where we provide you with money to arrange your own services to meet your social care needs, rather than arranging services for you. Until recently, this option has only been available to people living in the community. For more information, call the contact centre on 0300 500 80 80 or talk to your social care worker.
