Different levels of accreditation

The Nottinghamshire wellbeing at work scheme is unique, not only because it is completely free to complete, but also because it offers four different levels of accreditation.

The levels available are:

  • Bronze: Display and signposting health promotion and information
  • Silver: Campaigns health development
  • Gold: Training enabling and increasing access to local wellbeing services
  • Platinum: Policy changes and culture changes

Find more detail here [PDF].

There is no requirement to go through the levels in your application and you can apply to the level of accreditation you feel you're at. E.g. You don't have to get the bronze accreditation first before progressing to silver.

For each of these levels, you have to submit the required levels of evidence for each of the outlined four key strands of health and wellbeing. Broadly, this means:

Bronze

Evidence needs to demonstrate how you have communicated to staff where they can access the necessary information. In addition to the use of the intranet this needs to be through either / or:

  • emails to staff
  • through memos/newsletters
  • materials displayed in the workplace posters, leaflets
  • photographic/intranet evidence of information
  • minutes from team meetings, clearly detailing information given to staff

Silver

Carry out and evidence 16 national health promotional campaigns / events, 4 from each of the four key health themes.

Evidence needs to demonstrate how you have communicated details of the campaigns you supported to staff. In addition to the use of the intranet this needs to be through either/or:

  • emails to staff
  • through memo’s/newsletters
  • materials displayed in the workplace posters, leaflets
  • quizzes, workshops and visits from local service providers
  • photographic/intranet evidence of information
  • minutes from team meetings, clearly detailing information given to staff
  • provide details of any sponsored activities
  • choose variations of campaigns from previous levels

Gold

Ensure that employees are aware of any reading material or training/awareness raising sessions within each theme.

Evidence needs to demonstrate how you have communicated to staff where they can access training opportunities. In addition to the use of the intranet this needs to be through either / or:

  • emails to staff
  • through memos/newsletters

  • minutes from team meetings, clearly detailing information given to staff
  • staff induction and annual reviews
  • proof of events and training sessions

Platinum

Evidence staff policy change within the identified themes as listed in the criteria and evidence.

Develop and implement a policy for each theme and provide evidence of how this is being delivered and communicated to staff. In addition to the use of the intranet this needs to be through either/or:

  • emails to staff, on induction, at occupational health (if applicable), at team meetings, in staff handbooks / newsletters / on payslips, by incorporating services cards and clinic timetables into resources
  • materials displayed in the workplace posters, leaflets
  • photographic/intranet evidence of information
  • minutes from team meetings, clearly detailing information given to staff
  • staff recruitment process, staff induction and annual reviews
  • copies of the recruitment process, health policies, communication plans, self-assessments and workplans and how they have been implemented
  • evidence of the initial staff survey on sign up and then on submission
  • evidence robust systems in place to manage health and safety risks to employees, customers, partners and any other people who could be affected by the organisation’s activities
