Bereavement Support Payment

A larger first payment followed by up to 18 monthly payments to be paid if your husband, wife or civil partner died on or after 6 April 2017.

Who can apply

This benefit is aimed at the bereaved.

You must be under State Pension age and living in the UK or a country that pays bereavement benefits. Your late partner must have either paid National Insurance contributions for at least 25 weeks or died because of an accident at work or a disease caused by work.
