D2N2 Teaching Partnership

Set up in 2016, the D2N2 Teaching Partnership’s social work academy for excellence is made up of ten local partners from the social work sector and has been funded, by the Department for Education and Department of Health, to improve and enhance the quality of social work training in the region, as well as providing a research-led and practice-based CPD programme to existing social workers across the region.

Why have Teaching Partnerships?

"Teaching partnerships offer a great opportunity for working together to invest in the highest standards of social work education and practice. They provide the chance to ensure that we have more good placements available for students, more support for practice educators and more input from practising social workers and people with lived experience in educating social work students"

- Isabelle Trowler and Lyn Romeo (The Chief social workers for Children's and Adult’s social work in England)

We want to ensure that everything we do is guided by, and involves, the participation of all key social work stakeholders – students, university staff, social workers, practice educators, managers, employer organisations, and service users and carers. To this end, our website will help keep you informed about the activities and events you can get involved with, keep you up to date on sector news, and provide you with a range of useful links and resources to help you develop your career, and develop as an individual.

Equally, you may be new to social work, or just considering a career in social work – so we've also included some information about the range of social work training programmes that are available, a "Day in the Life" resource – highlighting some of the social work roles you might consider, and some useful guidance on job applications and interviews.
