This course aims to look at sensory processing difficulties, behaviours you may see and strategies you can use to support the child.

Parenting adopted children - therapeutic needs and realities

This course will enable you to consider the impact of a child's early years' experience, how it can affect adoptive parents, support your child’s emotional needs and gain therapeutic parenting strategies to manage their presenting behaviours.

Understanding the impact of domestic violence

There is a strong link between domestic violence, child abuse and neglect.  This course will explore this link, the impact abuse has on health and social development, how children get drawn into domestic violence, and young people's coping strategies.

13 June 2016

Understanding fostering for adoption

This course explores the important topics of fostering for adoption, looking at it from the perspectives of both the child and the adopter. There is also the opportunity to meet an adopter who has previously adopted through the scheme.

Life story work training seminar

Life story work can also allow children to understand that their early life experience is not their fault and enable them to grow in confidence in their adoptive family.
