Creative apprenticeships grant scheme

A new scheme is offering grants of up to £1,500 to support Nottinghamshire based creative businesses looking to take on their first apprentice.

10 supported apprenticeships are available through the Creative Apprenticeships scheme which is delivered in a partnership between Futures, New College Nottingham and the Nottingham Craft Academy.

The scheme also provides specialist craft input from Debbie Bryan of the Nottingham Craft Academy.

Apprentices offer a range of benefits for small business, bringing enthusiasm and fresh ideas, increased productivity and specific training support focussed on the needs of each firm they are based at.

Many firms decide to offer permanent positions to former apprentices, offering an ideal way to grow businesses and to recruit new talent.

Funding is only available to businesses which are based in the county of Nottinghamshire (excluding Nottingham City) and are looking to hire an apprentice for the first time. The apprentice must also live in Nottinghamshire.

Further information is available from the Nottingham Craft Academy who run drop in surgeries on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at Debbie Bryan’s shop in the Lace Market from 4pm to 5pm.
