Benefits advice

Face to face advice

We provide advice on the full range of social security benefits available to people living in Nottinghamshire. The help we provide ranges from checking whether you are getting all the benefits to which you are entitled, right up to representing you at benefits tribunals.

These pages provide information about the times and locations of our advice sessions, as well as showing you how to contact us for our specialist advice services. We hold the Specialist Help Quality Mark from Community Legal Advice, which means that we provide an advice service that conforms to national quality standards.

www.communitylegaladvice.org.uk is the website of Community Legal Advice. They aim to ensure that people in England Community Legal Advice logoand Wales can get impartial information and advice about their legal rights and help with enforcing them. You can search the Community Legal Advice website for organisations that offer welfare benefits advice outside of Nottinghamshire.

Their site is published in a range of languages to ensure access to the whole community.

We also maintain a list of the times and locations of other benefits advice sessions in Nottinghamshire run by organisations not connected with the County Council.

Publications

We produce benefits advice publications that contain detailed information about (including information on how to qualify for) benefits such as Attendance Allowance and the Disability Living Allowance.

We also publish a benefits newsletter every two months called 'Benefit Briefing', which is available through this website. Although this leaflet is aimed at professional benefits advisors and people working in the social care field, non-professionals may also find it interesting.
