There are strict rules and regulations about how you can dispose of certain types of waste.
Some examples:
- Engine oil should always be recycled. It should never be poured down the drain as it is hazardous to wildlife.
- Car batteries contain sulphuric acid which is very dangerous. Car batteries can be recycled at the County Council’s household waste and recycling centres
- Asbestos is a hazardous waste. It can be found in many forms and the main types tend to be either soft or hard asbestos.
